Greeley was recently awarded nearly $1.75 million from Great Outdoors Colorado to help East Greeley families explore and enjoy the outdoors.
The $1,749,977 grant, which comes from Colorado Lottery money, will be used to launch Generation Wild Greeley, according to a city of Greeley news release.
Generation Wild Greeley will bring outdoor experiences to neighborhoods, with a series of programs aimed to make it easier for families easier to access nature close to home, the release states.
Programs will include learning to camp, field trips to local parks and natural areas, outdoor learning brought to neighborhoods and activities designed by interested families, according to the release.
