YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - A pedestrian was killed on Sunday at around 8:13 a.m. in a hit and run accident on State Route 97 northwest of Wapato.

According to Washington State Patrol (WSP), 31-year-old Jeffrey Bushman of Wapato was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a car that fled.

The crash remains under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
