PHOENIX -- New details are being revealed about a dramatic rescue after a camping trip took a scary turn along a mountain in east central Arizona.

This unfolded Friday in the Superstition Mountains.

First responders in Maricopa County received a call that a dog had fallen and could no longer walk.

The dog and its owner were in a deep canyon.

Rescuers found the pair and hoisted both of them to safety.

They used a special harness to lift the dog into the helicopter.

The dog was rushed to a veterinarian to get help for his injuries.

There's no word yet on his condition.
