Lostprophets guitarist Lee Gaze has spoken out for the first time following the death of former bandmate Ian Watkins in prison.
The disgraced singer was stabbed to death in HMP Wakefield on Saturday morning, October 11.
The Mirror reports that a fan had reached out to Lee online, and he replied simply: “Thanks for the kind words.”
Watkins, 48, was reportedly attacked in an alleged knife assault at the prison, with his throat slashed. Emergency services were called at 9.39am, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men, aged 25 and 43, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.
Watkins had a criminal history involving child sex offences. In 2013, he pleaded guilty at Cardiff Crown Court to 13 offences, including rape
