COLORADO (KRQE) – A child rape suspect who has been on the run for years in Colorado was found and arrested earlier Sunday. A U.S. Marshals manhunt in Alamosa County led to the arrest of 62-year-old Paul Sandoval.

Police say they started searching for Sandoval in 2021, after he tied up an 8-year-old girl and raped her. Sandoval disappeared into the mountains with a rifle for four years.

But on Sunday, a team of over 70 law enforcement officers from multiple agencies found and arrested him in southeastern Colorado.
