A powerful Nor’Easter storm has started to lash Rhode Island, and power outages are already rolling in.

On Sunday, Oct. 12, the first power outages appeared in Rhode Island Energy’s outage map at around 4:30 p.m. By 5:30 p.m., more than 1,800 RI Energy customers were without power.

The storm is expected to bring drenching rain and gusty winds from Sunday through to Tuesday, Oct. 14. Numerous weekend events in Rhode Island were canceled in anticipation of the foul weather.
