CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) -- Firefighters rescued nine people and a dog from an apartment fire in Champaign on Sunday.
The fire broke out just after 4 p.m., at an apartment located on High View Court in Champaign.
Most of the residents were rescued from their balconies, but firefighters had to enter the apartment building to save one person and a dog. One person was treated at the scene and brought to the hospital for further evaluation.
As of around 5 p.m. Sunday, fire crews remain on scene for overhaul and cleanup. Fire officials are still working to figure how the fire started.
The Urbana Fire Department also responded to the second alarm fire.
