A 52-year-old Pitt Meadows man is dead, and BC Highway Patrol is looking for help with dash-camera video and witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the fatal, single-vehicle crash in Richmond.

Police were called on Friday, Oct. 10, shortly after noon to Highway #99 northbound just after the Steveston onramp.

Indications are a white, Dodge Ram flat deck truck went off-road right on highway.

The resulting highway shutdown caused major delays for several hours, said RCMP Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.

“The evidence collected so far is that the deceased driver was alone in the white Dodge Ram flat deck," McLaughlin explained.

" We have not identified any other vehicles or people involved."

Police are speaking to more witnesses and gathering dash-camera video,
