BANGOR -- More than 70 Maine veterans touched down at the Bangor International Airport Sunday, marking the fourth and final Honor Flight of the year.
After spending the weekend in our nation's capital, veterans on Bangor's latest Honor Flight were welcomed home by family and friends.
"A lot of it is hard to describe because it's so moving," said U.S Army Veteran James Merrifield.
Since its inception, Honor Flight has helped over 1300 Maine veterans and more than 325 thousand veterans total fly to Washington D.C. To tour the memorials and monuments built in their honor, according to the chairman of Honor Flight Maine.
"You can't describe the feeling of going to the different monuments, it's just inspiring and it's good to know that people appreciate what we've done for the country," sa
