Reese Witherspoon fought back tears as she publicly honored the late Diane Keaton.

The “Morning Show” actress became emotional while speaking about her personal relationship with Keaton onstage at her media company Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away event in Los Angeles Saturday.

“Diane was really important, she was one of my first mentors in this business,” Witherspoon shared in a video she posted on her Instagram.

She explained how Keaton became a guiding light after she auditioned for the “Annie Hall” star when she was just 15 years old. Witherspoon, 49, recalled how Keaton immediately cast her for 1991’s “Wildflower,” a television film that Keaton directed.
