A skydiver died after a “landing accident” in Perris on Saturday, Oct. 11, according to law enforcement officials.

Deputies responded shortly before 11:40 a.m. to Case and Murrieta roads after an air emergency, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

They found a skydiver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies found no signs of foul play, the Sheriff’s Department said.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau is investigating.

No further details were immediately available.

A 28-year-old skydiving instructor and her student died in August 2024 after a hard landing caused by a “dust devil” or dust-filled vortex that the pair encountered, Skydive Perris officials said last year. The pair were hospitalized with serious injuries but later died.
