Fabian Lysell had a big night for the Providence Bruins .

The Bruins prospect scored his first career hat trick in Providence’s 6-3 win in its home opener over the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday.

Lysell’s first goal came just 1:14 into the game on a breakaway . The next two came in the third period, with the second goal coming off a redirect of Jonathan Aspirot’s shot from the point.

To complete the hat trick, Lysell fired a shot by Checkers goalie Cooper Black in the final four minutes en route to Providence’s win.

“It was good to see Fabian watch a couple pucks go in the net,” coach Ryan Mougenel told reporters after the game . “For offensive guys, it’s always good that they can see the puck go in and start building that confidence. It’s a big part of the game.”
