BMRCL seeks permission to remove 2,184 trees; Forest Department recommends retaining 686, transplanting 406, and approves felling of 1,092 after detailed review

Under the Phase 3 expansion of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro project, a total of 1,092 trees have been approved for removal to facilitate the construction of the JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura (Hebbal) Metro corridor. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has obtained conditional clearance from the Forest Department, with the process being closely monitored by the Karnataka High Court.
