The Cavaliers (5-1, 3-0 ACC) are ranked No. 18 by the AP, appearing in the poll for the third straight week.
UVa debuted at No. 24 in the poll on the heels of its double-overtime win over then-No. 8 Florida State in late September, and then climbed five spots to No. 19 last week after an overtime victory at Louisville on Oct. 4.
The Hoos’ bye week came at the midpoint of their slate, and they are only one of 13 power-conference squads still unbeaten in league play. In the ACC, the Cavaliers are one of five teams to not yet take a loss in conference action along with Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami and SMU.
