NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — New York City's biggest Columbus Day celebration will not happen in 2025.
Organizers of the annual Columbus Day Parade announced late Sunday night that the 81st edition has been canceled. The parade typically takes place on Fifth Avenue.
A spokesperson of the Columbus Citizens Foundation says the cancellation is due to the city being under a state of emergency from the nor'easter on the East Coast.
"We must cancel the 81st Annual Columbus Day Parade for the safety of all participants and viewers," the spokesperson said in a statement.
The parade will not be rescheduled.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our 82nd annual parade in 2026."
