Brian Branch may have earned himself a fine — or worse — from the NFL after his part in instigating a postgame scuffle between the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs.

On Sunday, the Chiefs pulled to 3-3 on the season after besting the Lions 30-17 in a pretty decisive victory. After the Chiefs kneeled down the final snap of the game, things got heated between the two teams. In the dying seconds of the game, Patrick Mahomes extended a hand out to Branch for the customary postgame handshakes. Branch, however, didn't respond to the gesture and kept walking past Mahomes.

Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster wasn't happy with Branch's attitude after his dismissal of Mahomes, yet extended a hand to the Lions safety for postgame handshakes all the same. Branch then hit Smith-Schuster square on in the face, prompting a massive scrum to break out between the two teams that took a few moments to break up.

So, will Branch be fined for hitting Smith-Schuster at the end of Sunday night's game? It seems pretty likely considering Branch has a pretty lengthy fine history, including a recent Week 1 fine for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

We'll have to see how the NFL rules from here, but it seems like a pretty cut-and-dried scenario.
