Scumbags like Liam Moir deserve to spend years behind bars for their sickening crimes. ‌

The abuser was recently convicted of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl at a ­property in Glasgow on her 12th birthday, in 2023. ‌

He then continued to make periodic attacks on her over the five months that followed. But Moir was sentenced to just 18 months in prison , despite the gravity of his offences. ‌

The victim’s mother is right when she describes his sentence as nothing when placed in the context of the damage he has caused. The poor girl should be enjoying her teenage years alongside her school friends but is now terrified to leave the house.

Her mental health has been severely impacted and we must hope she gets the support she so badly needs. At least sh
