Bishop Dwenger High School this month broke ground on a $6.5 million addition that is expected to be just the third Catholic high school career academy nationwide, a news release said.
The 14,000-square-foot space is expected to be ready for students next August, said Katie Slee, advancement director.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer this to our students,” she said by email, noting the other Catholic career academies are in Philadelphia and Houston. “We will expand our dual credit offerings to our students and as well as present opportunities for various certifications.”
Programs will focus on biomedical, engineering, construction trades, entrepreneurship and welding and metal fabrication, Slee said.
The school has partnered with the Tippmann Group, Design Collaborative and Michael
