KILLEEN, Texas — For Chaparral High School senior Elijah Treadwell, basketball isn’t just a sport—it’s a way of life.

With a pivotal senior year ahead and dreams of playing college ball, Elijah was poised to make his mark on the court. But just as the season was beginning to take shape, a sudden injury brought everything to a halt.

"I thought it was gonna be something serious because like it like hurt like really, really bad," said Treadwell. "So I mean I went to the trainer. She gave me ice. I was like, oh, it's probably not gonna be anything like super crazy. I'd be good, probably like 3 or 2 days, but , you know, it just didn't happen that way."
