Homelessness is perhaps the most discussed issue in Bangor.

It has become increasingly visible in the city in recent years, and unsheltered and chronic homelessness are on the rise throughout Maine. Bangor’s fragile network of providers that help people living on the streets have said that their work is only becoming more difficult .

Every City Council candidate agreed that homelessness needs to be addressed — but how would they do that? The Bangor Daily News asked each candidate the following question: Homelessness is one of the biggest issues in our city. What concrete actions would you pursue as a city councilor to work toward ending homelessness in Bangor?
