Bhubaneswar : A three-member delegation of the Odisha State Women’s Commission (OSWC), led by its Chairperson, Sobhana Mohanty, left for Durgapur in West Bengal to assess the progress of the investigation into the alleged gang-rape of an Odia medical student and review the medical treatment being provided to the victim.

According to reports, the team will hold discussion with police and administrative officials regarding the investigation, visit the hospital where the survivor is undergoing treatment, and offer support to her family.

The OSWC team is scheduled to visit the Durgapur-based hospital where the survivor, a second-year medical student from Jaleswar in Balasore district, is receiving treatment. The team members will assess her condition and ensure the West Bengal government is
