All-rounder Sean Gibson says being one of the senior players in the Northern Suburbs' first-grade team "terrifies" him.

But it did not stop him from leading his young side, alongside teammate and captain Luke Farthing, to victory on Saturday against Raymond Terrace.

Gibson scored 117 and took 4-59, conceding a number of runs but ultimately taking the crucial wickets of Joel Osborn (68) and Steve Smith (41) as Norths held on to win by 18 runs.

"I'm 24 and Luke's a year younger than me. The thought that we are going to guide the younger players... it's quite terrifying," Gibson said, reflecting on his growing responsibilities at the club.
