A free mobile app Missouri businesses use to verify whether photo IDs are real or fake is no longer being updated.

The Show-Me ID app expired on September 30, according to Mike O’Connell, spokesman for the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. It has been used by restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and other retailers in Missouri for the sales of alcohol and tobacco products.

“The company (Vivayic) informed the division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control that they are suspending their app services, that they’re primarily a training development company and that they are no longer going to be going forward with what they call custom apps in their business plan,” O’Connell told Missourinet.
