Mumbai, Oct 13: Tata Sons will continue under the leadership of N Chandrasekaran until 2032, breaking away from the company’s traditional retirement policy, NDTV Profit has reported.

Chandrasekaran, currently serving his second term as Chairman, was set to retire in 2027 at the age of 65. However, the trustees of Tata Trusts, which holds 66% stake in Tata Sons, have approved a third five-year term, allowing him to continue at the helm until he turns 70.

Chandrasekaran first joined the Tata Sons Board in October 2016 and was appointed Chairman in January 2017. The extension underscores Tata Trusts’ support for continuity in key strategic leadership areas, though sources indicated that this decision was not part of the recent Friday meeting of the Trusts
