Madhya Pradesh Police arrested Ranganathan Govindan, the owner of Sresan Pharma, which manufactures Coldrif cough syrup, on October 9

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday conducted raids at seven locations linked to Srisan Pharmaceuticals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the company behind the toxic Coldrif cough syrup that has so far claimed the lives of 25 children in Madhya Pradesh.

According to ED officials quoted by ANI, multiple teams from the agency’s Chennai Zonal Office carried out simultaneous searches based on intelligence inputs.

Raids were also conducted at the residences of senior officials of the Tamil Nadu Drugs Control Office.

The ED action follows reports that substandard raw materials were used in the manufacturing of Coldrif syrup, which led to the fatal poisoning case
