A dentist has warned that one of the most common Halloween accessories could do more harm than people realise - possibly causing permanent damage. Dr Deepa Chopra, dentist at Whites Dental, has warned people to make careful choices this Halloween.

“Wearing fake teeth or vampire fangs might look fun, but they can actually cause permanent damage if they do not fit properly or are attached using the wrong products,” said Dr Chopra.

She said that many store-bought costume fangs are designed to fit a wide range of mouths, which means they rarely fit securely. “When costume teeth are loose or uneven, people often use glue or adhesive to hold them in place. These substances can irritate the gums, weaken enamel and even damage crowns or fillings.”
