Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) will drop or replace 6 non-performing candidates in the upcoming assembly elections, according to a senior party leader.
The leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the party would contest in 103 of the total of 243 seats in the state assembly. They also said that a formal announcement would be made later at an appropriate time.
He said that "The seats which we would be contesting have been identified. Respective candidates have also been finalised. Four non-performing sitting MLAs will be replaced with fresh faces. A new candidate will also be fielded in the Parbatta seat in Khagaria, where our MLA Sanjeev Kumar last week crossed over to the RJD.
