After deciding to swap his Honda Civic for something a bit more high-tech, Dr Dimitar Ormanov had his sights set on a Tesla. But when he went looking two years ago, he came across Chinese-manufactured BYDs (Build Your Dreams) on the forecourt of a garage and was surprised at the price. ‌

The swanky BYDs were much cheaper than Elon Musk's electric brand, but still looked as good. His decision was made quickly, and now, two years on, Dr Ormanov has no regrets over his choice. ‌

BYDs are all-electric vehicles which offer attractive styling, a good driving range, fine handling and performance, as well as generously equipped trim levels and the choice of rear or all-wheel drive. ‌
