SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Columbus Day Parade returned to Springfield's South End this year after more than 20 years, organized by the Sons and Daughters of Italy of Springfield.

The parade, a cherished tradition in the South End neighborhood, was brought back by popular demand and coincided with the return of the Italian Feast earlier this year.

"Bringing back these traditions...many of us feel like we're kind of working for some of our ancestors...our grandfathers...our grandmothers," said Chris Dimauro, PR director of the Sons and Daughters of Italy Springfield.

The event was organized in just 50 days, highlighting the community's dedication to reviving their cultural traditions.
