Train drivers travelling through Stirling's Cornton area have been forced to apply emergency braking due to people disregarding safety protocols in what Network Rail describes as a "worrying increase in dangerous misuse" of the level crossing there.
Network Rail has issued correspondence to locals residing near the Cornton No. 2 Level Crossing, alerting them to the perils of ignoring safety procedures at the location.
The transport body's letter reveals there have been recent "repeated incidents involving adults, dog walkers, and children on bicycles and scooters crossing without following the safety instructions in place".
