ATLANTA — While most Democrats and Republicans in Washington remain sharply divided as the government shutdown drags on, one Georgia conservative is getting some attention for suggesting she agrees with some of what the other party is saying.

In an interview with 11Alive's Zach Merchant and in other public comments this week, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has staked out positions on healthcare that align with some of the concerns expressed by Democrats.

This week the conservative Republican representing northwest Georgia posted on X that she was "absolutely disgusted that health insurance premiums will double" if subsidies established under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expire.
