Gas prices in Georgia have fallen 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week, according to GasBuddy's survey of nearly 5,900 stations in the state.

The average price for a gallon of gas in Georgia as of Monday is $2.82 per gallon, which is down 3.7 cents per gallon from last week, noted the survey. In the Augusta area, the average cost is $2.76 per gallon, down 1.9 cents per gallon from last week's $2.78 per gallon.

Prices in the state are 2.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago, but 16.1 cents more per gallon than this time last year, noted GasBuddy.
