After the Patriots got off to a 1-2 start to the season, it appears that second-year quarterback Drake Maye has found a rhythm and has gotten the team back on track after they reeled off their third consecutive victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

The Patriots escaped a road trip to the Big Easy with a 25-19 victory behind another stellar performance from Maye. The former UNC Tar Heel went 18-of-26 passing for 261 yards and three touchdowns in the win while throwing zero interceptions for the third straight week, grabbing the attention of many NFL followers – including Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

Maye's impressive effort against the Saints comes after Maye went 14-of-17 passing for 203 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4 as he helped the Patriots wallop the Panthers in a 42-13 beating, which he then followed up by going 22-of-30 against for 273 yards last week as the Patriots went on the road and upset the AFC East-leading Buffalo Bills in a 23-20 victory. And while Maye didn't toss for any scores against the Bills, he made very few mistakes and generated a ton of offense in a crucial win for the Patriots.

With Sunday's win against the Saints, it appears Maye might finally have the Patriots finding their groove once again as he lives up to the hype surrounding him after being selected with the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Luckily for Maye and the Patriots, they have a pair of very winnable games coming up next against two of the worst teams in the AFC, the Browns and the Titans. He will also have the chance to get the Patriots into a secure spot as we near the halfway point of the season.
