PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A South Peoria neighborhood was the scene of a heavy police presence after a man was shot in the head, and where officers were reportedly involved in an alleged standoff.

The report of an alleged standoff in the 2300 block of West Antoinette Street came from a 25News crew at the scene. The news crew reports at least a dozen police vehicles in the area,

Earlier, Peoria Police said a man suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting on West Antoinette, between South Stanley Street and South Westmoreland Avenue.

A Shot Spotter alert indicated 15 shots were fired in the area.
