Cleveland Clinic was ranked by Newsweek as one of the world’s best smart hospitals and, after being placed in top five in the world in 10 specialties, as one of the world’s best specialized hospitals, the medical center announced in a news release on Sept. 22.

Cleveland Clinic was awarded the top spot among hospitals in the world in cardiology and urology. It was second in cardiac surgery, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology and pulmonology, while placing third in endocrinology and orthopedics. It was ranked fifth in neurology and neurosurgery.

Among smart hospitals, which Newsweek said recognizes hospitals that “utilize advanced technology including AI and automation to improve patient care and streamline workflow,” Cleveland Clinic placed second.
