The tennis season is coming to a close as we enter the halfway point of October. Emporia High's tennis team has seen a considerable amount of success this season as they head into the biggest tournament of the year. The Lady Spartans competed at Regionals over the past weekend with a chance to qualify for the State tournament around the corner.
The Lady Spartans saw their top two teams qualify for the State tournament as singles player Kali Keough finished in second place at Regionals. Their number one doubles team of Peyton Chanley and Kinsley Hines would finish in third place and secure a trip to the State tournament. All of these players return to State after last season, and they look to improve from last season at the tournament.
