Alistair Johnston has handed Celtic a major injury boost by returning to full first-team training. ‌

The Canadian right-back has been sidelined since being stretchered off in August's Champions League playoff at home to Kairat Almaty with a hamstring issue. ‌

It was originally feared that Johnston would be out of action until November at the earliest. ‌

But the key man has been able to get back on the grass ahead of schedule and could be in contention for a comeback at Dens Park this weekend.

Johnston was spotted being put through his paces at Lennoxtown this afternoon, with Celtic's non-international stars putting the work in ahead of Sunday's trip to Dundee .
