Bengaluru-based spacetech start-up GalaxEye is preparing to launch its maiden commercial satellite, Mission Drishti, in the first quarter of 2026 aboard a SpaceX launch vehicle. Weighing over 160 kilogram, Drishti will be India’s largest privately built satellite, marking a major step in the country’s private space ecosystem.

“The idea was always to build a satellite with a sensor technology that hosts a camera and radar together on the same satellite,” said Suyash Singh, Co-founder and CEO, GalaxEye.

“We have coined a term for this dataset — SyncFused OptoSAR — where optical and SAR sensors are on the same satellite and acquire data simultaneously. It’s a new form of dataset that has never been produced in the world.”

The company has been working on the technology for over four years.
