Agartala, 13 th October 2025: An incident of domestic violence has emerged from the Lakshmipur area of Dasda under Kanchanpur subdivision, where a man allegedly launched a brutal attack on his own mother over a dispute related to the sale of betel nuts.

Local sources informed that the accused identified as Bikram Nath had been subjecting his mother Anjali Nath to prolonged physical and mental abuse stemming from a longstanding feud over ancestral property.

The situation escalated yesterday around 6 am when a heated argument broke out between the two regarding the sale of betel nuts. In a fit of rage, Bikram reportedly broke down the door and assaulted his mother in a vicious manner.
