LSU football coach Brian Kelly has been linked to the Penn State football coaching position on a list created by Sports Illustrated's Bryan Fischer.
Penn State fired coach James Franklin after the Nittany Lions fell to 3-3 this season after a 22-21 loss to Northwestern on Saturday. Now, one of college football's premier programs' coaching job is open and big names, including Kelly, have quickly been mentioned as potential options to succeed Franklin.
"There’s a case to be made that Kelly and Franklin were the two most successful head coaches not to have won a national title," Fischer wrote. "But Kelly is a serial winner and seems like a much better cultural fit at Penn State than LSU. A change of scenery on the coach’s end and a big name on the school’s end could be a win all around
