With wins over No. 5 Grassfield, Landstown and No. 8 First Colonial, the Kellam boys volleyball team held on to its top spot in this week’s 757Teamz Top 15.

In the First Colonial match, a 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 28-26, 25-16) win, Dylan Calkins led the Knights, who are ranked fifth nationally by MaxPreps among teams that play in the fall season, with 15 kills.

Coach Aaron Campbell is confident in the Knights’ ability to defend, even as Glen Allen (ranked third nationally) stands directly in the way, along with Deep Run (sixth), Midlothian (14th), Cosby (24th) and the No. 2-5 teams in this week’s 757Teamz Top 15 — Granby, Warwick, Menchville, and Grassfield. Campbell made mention of the Richmond-area teams in recent comments.
