A jury heard testimony from seven people — including the victim who testified over the course of two days — before determining a 10-year prison sentence for a Nevada man on Friday.
Jacob Patrick Murphy, 33, of Sparks, Nevada, was booked into the Bell County Jail on Sept. 21, 2023, and was listed in custody as of Monday. He was indicted by a Bell County grand jury on Sept. 27, 2023, on a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child.
Murphy entered a plea of not guilty at the start of the trial on Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the 426th Judicial District Court with Judge Steve Duskie presiding.
