Martin Clunes , who starred in Doc Martin for 10 seasons across 18 years for British broadcaster ITV, is joining the U.S. remake of the drama.

Fox is launching Best Medicine , an adaptation of the long-running medical comedy drama, in midseason. Josh Charles plays Martin Best, based on the character that Clunes played in the original, and Clunes will play his father (despite being only nine years older than him in real life).
