CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – St. Lawrence University’s Athletes of the Week, Oct. 13, 2025, are Junior Forward, Gunnar Thoreson, of the Men’s Hockey team and Angelica Aksdal-Jansen, of the Women’s Tennis team. SLU Athletes of the Week Oct. 6 Thoreson is a graduate of Andover High School.

Gunnar Thoreson Named St. Lawrence University Athlete of the Week, Oct. 13, 2025 (WWTI/ St. Lawrence University) Gunnar Thoreson scored two empty-net goals to secure a 5-2 victory for the St. Lawrence University men's hockey team against Vermont during their home-opener on Sunday. Ethan Burroughs from Vermont scored to reduce the gap, but Thoreson quickly responded with his first goal at 1:37 remaining and added a second just 26 seconds later. Aksdal-Jansen is a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep.
