Although a large nor’easter is moving its way offshore this afternoon, Hampton Roads residents will likely still deal with flooding Monday.

According to tide gauge data from the National Weather Service in Wakefield, tides on Monday will stay between minor to moderate flooding. The peak of Monday’s tides will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., depending on the location in Hampton Roads. At the Lynnhaven Inlet gauge, the tide is forecasted to reach 5.2 feet, or moderate flooding. On the Peninsula, tides are expected to reach about 5 feet, which is considered minor flooding for the area.

The forecasted tides are lower than Sunday’s, when the afternoon high tide reached 6.17 feet at Lynnhaven and 5.6 feet at Yorktown and the James River gauges on the Peninsula.
