Rahul Gandhi to visit Chandigarh on Oct 14 to meet family of Y Puran Kumar

Chandigarh, October 14, 2025: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will visit the residence of late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar in Chandigarh this evening. Gandhi is scheduled to arrive around 5:15 PM to meet IAS Amneet P Kumar, the officer’s widow, and offer condolences.

The visit comes amid mounting political tension after the family refused postmortem and last rites until action is taken against Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur, former Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarniya, and others named in Kumar’s final note. Gandhi’s visit is expected to intensify the political debate surrounding the case.
