LINCOLN, Neb. —
Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule praised the job that fired Penn State coach James Franklin did while addressing his name being mentioned for the opening.
Rhule said at his Monday press conference that he is "really sad" about the news and he wished Franklin all the best.
"I love Penn State, met my wife there. It's my alma mater. I've been a fan since I was born," Rhule said. "I think I probably had a Penn State shirt when I was born. I love (Penn State Athletic Director) Pat Kraft."
Rhule said he is in constant communication with Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen.
"I'm really happy here," Rhule said.
He said he will not discuss job openings or his contract.
"This is what happens when you win," Rhule said about the speculation.
