A Chattanooga man will serve eight years in prison for statutory rape by an authority figure.
A Hamilton County Jury indicted Colby Alexander Roysdon, 31, back in May.
Officials accused him of unlawfully and intentionally having sexual relations with a child in June of 2024. Grand jurors also had said he contributed to or encouraged the child's delinquency or unruly behavior.
He was 30 at the time of the incident.
District Attorney Coty Wamp told Local 3 that Roysdon will serve his term in full, a fair sentence given the facts and circumstances:
"We worked extensively with the victim's family to reach this resolution. We will continue to send child sex offenders to prison at a higher rate than has ever been accomplished in Hamilton County."
