BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Gov. Jeff Landry announced plans to strengthen law enforcement presence at LSU’s upcoming home football games.

According to a statement released on the governor’s official X account, Landry ordered the Louisiana State Police to work with the LSU Police Department, Baton Rouge Police Department, and East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office to come up with an enhanced security plan for the upcoming LSU/Texas A&M game.

They will continue assessing the security to ensure all future games are safe, he added.

“The level of violence and disruption will not be tolerated,” Landry wrote.

The announcement comes two days after two people were shot near the LSU campus during the Tigers’ homecoming celebration on Saturday.
