SEMINOLE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – What began as a family’s darkest moment has now become a story of hope, healing, and an unbreakable bond.

8-year-old Alaina Ritter passed away suddenly, but her family’s decision to donate her organs gave others a second chance at life. Among those touched by Alaina’s generosity was Michelle Young, who received one of her kidneys after spending years on the transplant waiting list.

Alaina’s mother, Nicole Ritter, said her daughter was full of life and love, the kind of child who brightened every room she entered.
